Liebster Award 2

I have very kindly been nominated again for the Liebster Award by +A. Beniot  from Always Blabbing.

 

 

Unfortunately, due to being nominated already I cannot accept this award as such. I am very grateful for the nomination and it means a lot to me that I have been nominated not only once but twice!

1. Eyeliner gel or pencil?

Pencil. I find it much easier to use a Kohl pencil rather than a gel.

 

2. Favourite nail polish. 

OPI Are We There Yet?

 

3. Dream vacation destination?

Thailand - One day I will get there!!  

 

4.  Sandals or boots?

Sandals - I cannot stand having hot feet!

 

5. Favourite Season?

Autumn - I love how pretty everything looks in Autumn and how the sun is still shining but it is not boiling hot and you can still wrap up warm!

 

6. Favourite Holiday ?

Ibiza with my best friend.

 

7. Coloured mascara yay or nay? 

No. If a pop of colour is needed then eyeshadow is the way to achieve it!

 

8. Do you have animals?

Yes. I currently have 2 mice called Ben & Jerry. My cat, Poppy has sadly been put to sleep :-(

 

9. One make up product you can't live without

Foundation or Tinted Moisturiser - instantly brightens your complexion

 

10.  Favourite Movie?

PS. I Love You - It is one of the few films that I can watch over and over again!

 

11. Favourite Food?

Vanilla Brioche! - Lush!!!

Rest In Peace Poppy :-(

 

 

 

Last week was the worst week of my life. My OAP cat unfortunately had to be put to sleep on Saturday.

 

I have never experienced anything like it and it was such a hard thing to do! It was however, the right thing to do.

 

Poppy has had skin cancer on her nose for the past 18 months, she has already outlived the vets expectations. The skin cancer wasn't causing her any problems, she didn't even seem to know it was there - she was her normal self up until last week.

 

Last week, she took a turn for the worse and if you read my previous post you will know we took her to the vets and she was given a steroid injection and some eye drops. The skin cancer had eaten away at her nose and made her eye quite infected. She picked up loads after she was given the steroid injection but on Saturday she was having breathing difficulties. We took her back to the vets and I am sorry to say that it was the kindest thing to do to put her to sleep.

 

She hadn't been suffering at all up until last week but on Saturday she really was very poorly. I didn't want her to suffer at all as she means an awful lot to me! 

 

She was put to sleep and there were an awful lot of tears from me and my brother. She has been around the whole of my brothers life and since I was little! We were there with her the whole time and we spent time with her afterwards to say our goodbyes.

 

We have chosen for her to be cremated on her own and for her ashes to be put into a wooden casket with a plaque with her name on the front. She will take pride of place on the hearth and she will always be part of our family.

 

Poppy will be dearly missed by all of us. I am absolutely devastated, I cannot even remember a day where she hasn't been here. I cannot put into words how much I miss Poppy! The house feels so empty without her and the smallest thing keeps reminding us of her.

 

Rest in peace Poppy cat - We all love you lots and you will always be part of the family and you will be dearly missed!!!  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Little update

I would just like to quickly update you on the reason I haven't been able to blog for the past few days. I don't want you to think that I have vanished! I promise I will be back soon, my blog and all you visitors mean so much to me! Each and every one of you... Yes.. YOU :-)

I have suffered with my illness really badly just lately and this past week I have suffered... BADLY!! Things have been ten times worse. Resulting in me being in my sick bed for days. 

To add to all this drama, my very old cat, that has been my companion for most of my life has been quite poorly. She does have health problems, especially since she is so old and it is inevitable that she will have to be put to sleep at some point in the future. The past 2 days she has been sick and generally very lethargic but today she seems a lot brighter! I need to express to you that she is in no way suffering and she is a very happy, well looked after and spoilt cat! If she ever shows signs of suffering or not having a great quality of life then I will not hesitate to have her PTS. The last thing I want is for her to suffer! She has been to the vets today and we have had a lengthy discussion and I feel much better knowing she definitely isn't suffering! Unfortunately, it has come to the stage where palliative care is the only option though. The vet gave her a steroid injection and she is now on a course of antibiotic eye drops. We know this will not CURE her but it will make her feel a lot better. I have already seen a major improvement! Obviously, one day the difficult decision will have to be made but until that day I am going to enjoy every moment with her! 

The combination of my illness and my cat being ill has made me very down. I have cried so many tears these past few days. I just hope things will get easier from now , especially where my illness is concerned. 

I hope you all understand the lack of blog posts but I WILL be back with the promised 3 posts on Friday. I may even have a bonus post for you :-)

At the moment, I am really interested in herbal remedies, especially since I have become ill! I hate taking tablets from the Doctors. They have so many side effects and surely can't be great for your body and overall health.

 

I have printed this chart off and its now stuck on my fridge! I will certainly be going out and purchasing some of these herbs and trying them!

I thought I should take this opportunity to share a little bit about myself - I am always reading other peoples Blogs and thinking I wish I knew more about them as a person and not just a blogger! I think it helps you to understand the Blog a lot better and it becomes a lot more personal.

You will not believe how much of a struggle I had compiling the list of loves & hates! The time was mainly spent on my list of hates as I just couldn't think of any! As you can see, I have that many things that I love, I have had to group some of them together. I expected it to be a really easy task and to have only taken me a couple of minutes to write the list. This just shows that I am a lover and not a hater :-)

 

I've had a lot of fun doing this post and it certainly put my brain to the test!

Summer. I absolutely love the sun, even though I don't tan and go bright red haha

Books.. I love to get stuck into a good book! I think you imagination can run wild when reading a book as oppose to watching a film

I don't think I'd want to be a villain, but, if I really had to choose then I would be Ursula from the Little Mermaid. Purely for the fact that I'd like 8 arms!

I'd absolutely love to go to Thailand! One day I will get there!

No, I didn't. I feel like I've missed out now!

Open road with unlimited fuel supply! At least then I can try get away!

All three?! If I had to choose it would be skin care! You only get one skin in your life time!

Passing my Dental Nursing exam.

 

11. What set you upon your blogging journey?

 

I'm quite poorly at the moment and I started it as a way to keep myself occupied. I've been wanting to do it for ages and I have never found the courage but being ill spurred me on to. You only live once! Not to mention..I absolutely love everything beauty! I also have a massive collection so writing reviews encourages me to use everything!

Apology!

Hi guys, 

Just want to apologise for not blogging in a while. I'm having such a tough time with my illness at the moment so I haven't been able to blog as I've been int sick bed :-( I hope you all understand!

Resuming Reviews Tomorrow :-)

Hey Guys, 

Thought I would share this quote with you:

Just thought I would do a quick update for you all. I am currently very poorly at the moment and for the past few days I have been really down so therefore I haven't been online. 

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that come tomorrow I will be resuming my reviewing. 

I have come up with a schedule for posts :-) I am going to do review posts on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays. On a Sunday I am going to do a general blog post including my current wishlist, items I've bought in the week, disappointing items from the week and my favourites of the week. If this happens to fall on the last Sunday of the month then these will become monthly items :-) I hope you like this format and if there is anything you would like me to review or write about then please let me know :-)

Off the radar..

So I haven't posted in a few months and that's all down to this stupid pain that still hasn't gone away unfortunately :-(

I have had yet more tests including 2 cystoscopies - one under GA and one under local - to make matters worse after the cystoscopy under GA, which was my last procedure, I am now in double the amount of pain than I was before :-( 

The doctor has decided that I have Interstitial Cystitis, which is a chronic condition that unfortunately cannot be cured. They can attempt to treat the symptoms which they are doing at the moment but it is anyone's guess as to what will happen and when the pain may go away.. If it does! I'm hoping that I will get relief shortly as I have been in agony for too long now and I would like to get my life back! The thing is that with IC it can come back at anytime and also go away at any point. I don't like the not knowing! I just want to feel better!! 

Most people look forward to their days off from work where they don't need to set an alarm or have any routine but me.. I'm looking forward to setting an alarm, early starts, wearing my uniform and being back at work!!!! 

I am going to try blog on a daily basis now.. If nothing else, it takes my mind off things for a short while :-) 

The picture below was from one of my many visits to hospital... I woke up to a bandaged hand and thought they'd operated on my hand!!
