Revlon Nail Polishes & Superdrug Nail Remover Review

Hi Guys,

I've decided to put this all in one post as its all about nails :-)

I recently purchase 2 Revlon nail polishes. One 'Top Speed - Fast Drying' in shade 570 Vintage and the other, which is just a basic Revlon polish in shade 281 Classy. I absolutely love Vintage, this is the polish that I am wearing today.

I expected that I would love Classy, as I love all pink nail polish. Unfortunately, the application was rubbish. After 3 coats it was still streaky and you could still see my nail through the coverage, not to mention, it took absolutely ages to dry! Since I'm impatient, I managed to catch 3 of my nails and had to take all the polish off! The colour is, however, very beautiful and the photos do not do the shade justice (It looks orangey on the photos but it isn't at all). It is a really pretty shimmery light pink and I was originally very excited to try it on my nails! I'm very disappointed with this polish as I expected to love it! Revlon polishes are usually amazing quality at a brilliant price but this one just didn't hit the mark.

However, Vintage is absolutely amazing!! I only needed to apply one coat to get an opaque coverage. The picture below shows me wearing a base coat, one coat of Vintage and a top coat. I have been wearing this for 4 days now and I have had no chips! (the photo was taken today). The colour is a very deep purpley red/pink and looks amazing once applied to the nails!! It also lives up to the claim that it dries in 60 seconds! I absolutely love quick drying nail polishes, as I mentioned above, I am very impatient when waiting for nail polish to dry. This shade is definitely worth trying!

Classy can be found HERE for £3.35 (RRP £5.99) and vintage can be found HERE for yet again, £3.35 (RRP 5.99) - I love the Perfume Click's website, you can get great quality products at discounted prices! If I had paid full price for Classy, I think I would be quite annoyed that it wasn't great quality.

Here is the picture I took today after 4 days of wearing Vintage:

Moving on to nail polish remover...
I needed some more so whilst I was buying a few other bits from Superdrug I decided to buy some. It was just lucky that Superdrug's own brand was on offer at 3 for 2 so me being me and loving a good deal I bought 3! I bought 3 different ones, the first one is an acetone formula (purple), the second is acetone free (blue) and the third is acetone free with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E (peach). The purple one contains Glycerine and claims to prevent your nails from drying out. It did feel very moisturising when using on my nails. The only thing to note with this one is that you cannot use it on acrylic nails due to it containing acetone. The peachy one is also very moisturising and soothing due to it containing Aloe Vera & Vitamin E and claims to help protect and condition the nail. The blue one is just a standard acetone free nail polish remover. They all worked in the same way when it came to removing nail polish and I only needed a small amount on one cotton pad to take off all the polish from both hands! It even removed staining when I removed a very bright red shade from my nails! It also tested well when using it to remove any mistakes with a cotton bud when painting my nails. I am very pleased I bought them! I usually use the Cutex range as I trust the brand. I have now found a new favourite though! I would highly recommend this nail polish remover to anyone! For only £1.39 a bottle, it is an absolute bargain!

They can be found HERE for £1.39 each.

I am thinking of doing a NOTW post every week - let me know if you would like me to do it! :-)

My Wishlist! :-)

Hey guys,

I think it is very important to have a wishlist each month! I especially love it when I buy an item from my wishlist and I get to tick it off :-) It gives me such a great feeling! I thought it was about time I shared my wishlist with you guys! Especially since it is my Birthday on the 21st of August so you never know, they might all be ticked off by the end of the month!

 1) YSL Glossy Stain (Shade 7) - I currently have one of the L'Oreal Glam Shine Stain Splash but they don't have much of a colour selection! I absolutely love my Glam Shine Stain and if they had a bigger selection then I wouldn't think twice about getting another! YSL have so many colours to choose from and I must admit I do want to compare the two to see if they are any different (Mainly due to people saying they are a great dupe). After all, L'Oreal and YSL are part of the same group.

2) Soap & Glory Products - Butter Yourself, The Breakfast Scrub, Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser, Smooch Operator Lip Butter Balm - As you know from my previous review post I am absolutely mad for Soap & Glory products, if I could buy all of the products I would, but after spending ages looking at the Boots website I finally narrowed it down to a top 4! Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser is in my top 4, purely because I have nearly run out of my current cleanser. Same with The Breakfast Scrub, I have almost used all of my current Soap & Glory Scrub 'Em And Leave 'Em. Body Buff so I fancy trying a different scrub. The Smooch Operator Lip Butter Balm and The Butter Yourself are just products that I would really like to try! Let's hope someone buys me some S&G for my birthday!

3) Pixi Glow Tonic - I have recently heard skincare expert and blogger Caroline Hirons talk about this amazing product! It is completely hand made, hand packaged and contains only natural ingredients. It is oil free, alcohol free and very heavy in Aloe Vera, Ginseng and Witch Hazel. It works as a chemical exfoliant to clear away dead skin cells and also tones, firms and softens the skin. I have heard many good things about this product so I know I will purchase it in the near future, especially when my current toner runs out! Unfortunately, it is only available through mail order, by contacting 0207 287 7211 or emailing storemanager@pixibeauty.com

4) Revlon PhotoReady Primer & Shadow - I love getting new eye products all the time and this compact looks perfect! You get a primer, 3 shadows and a sparkle top coat. I love the idea that you can choose between whether you wear the shadows matte or shimmery! The colour selection that appeals to me is Metropolitan but the compact comes in 4 other colour selections. If the shadows are pigmented and easy to work with/blend then this compact will be great value for money!

5) Essie Summer Nail Polish Collection - There are 6 different colours in this collection, Full Steam Ahead, Rock The Boat, More The Merrier, Naughty Nautical, Girls Are Out & Sunday Funday. I would like all of the colours out of this collection but at £7.99 they are a bit expensive to buy them all in one go! IF I had to choose three shades to have then I would choose, Naughty Nautical which is a lovely turquoisy shade, Sunday Funday which is a gorgeous pinky red shade and More The Merrier which is a lime green type shade. I have a few Essie polishes and I love how they apply so they are great value for the price. All the colours in the collection are beautiful and I would class them all as being very wearable! They are perfect Summer colours and since I haven't bought a new nail polish in over 2 weeks I think I should purchase them some time soon!!

To check out the products, please click on the underlined product names!

There we go guys, my wishlist for this month. Hopefully with it being my Birthday very soon I will get some of these products and the ones I don't get I will definitely be purchasing soon!

Are any of these products on your wishlist? Have you tried any of these products already? Let me know your thoughts and comment below!

My 10 Favourites Of The Week.

Hi Guys,

As promised, here are my favourites of the week! I like to change the products that I use quite often as I like to try new things all the time. But these products are products that I will definitely be using again in the future and I will be using them until they run out :-)

Body Shop Moringa Body Butter - I absolutely adore this product! It smells wonderful and leaves my skin feeling so smooth for the whole day! The smell lingers for the day too which is brilliant as it is such a nice scent! I love all of the Body Shop butters but this is my all time favourite and the one that I keep buying & buying! At the moment, The Body Shop have all of their body butters at half price! So what a perfect reason to treat yourself :-)

Body Shop Moringa Shower Gel - Onve again, I buy this product purely for the scent! There is something about the Moringa scent that has me hooked!! And as with the body butter, the smell lingers! They do a smaller size of this too for £2 which is great if you want to try before buying the larger size!

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara - This has been my daily mascara for as long as I care to remember! It is brilliant and makes my lashes thicker, longer & more visible with no clumping or gaps. I love the brush that comes with this too, it is a spoon brush and makes applying so much easier by applying the correct amount of product and not getting it all over your face!

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Polish - I love love love this colour! It is such a summery colour and one that will be on my toes for most of the summer! And the ultra glossy finish is AMAZING! These polishes are brilliant and for only £3.99 it's an absolute steal! Check out my full review here.

Superdrug Fruit Source Shea Butter & Bamboo Shower Cream - The smell of this makes me want to eat this product instead of apply it to my body! Smell is one of the most important factors when I am choosing beauty products and this definitely passes the smell test! It has a lovely lather and leaves your skin feeling really soft! At the moment this is on offer for 89p at Superdrug!

MUA Eyeshadow Pearl In Shade 24 - This has to be one of my favourite eyeshadows. It is super pigmented, doesn't crease, is easy to blend and work with and lasts all day without a primer! And it only costs £1! This is amazing value for a product of such high standard! I love the colour of this single, its a deep plummy, purple shade and looks beautiful on the eye. I like to wear this blended in to a light cream shade, forming a slight smokey eye. The MUA single eyeshadows come in 34 different shades so there are plenty to choose from!

Organic Surge Blissful Daily Moisturiser - This is a brilliant moisturiser that I use on a daily basis! I mainly use this product under my makeup or before bed. The scent took me a while to get use to as it is quite citrusy but the product leaves your skin feeling super soft & hydrated for hours!!! You can tell a difference in your skin almost instantly. It doesn't make you look really shiny either, so for those days with no makeup this can just be worn alone. I have been using the same pot of this for over 3 months now and I use it everyday, this just shows how little product you need! And don't forget, all the ingredients are organic! Check out my full review here.

Bed Head By Tigi After Party - I have been using this for over 2 years now. It is great for when I straighten my hair as it smooths down all the little fly away hairs without making your hair greasy! It smells lovely too which is an added bonus!

Colgate Max White One In Fresh - I don't know if I have told you all before but my day job is as a Dental Nurse, so teeth are very important to me! This product gently whitens your teeth up to one shade whiter in one week whilst also having all the power and effects of a great toothpaste! It comes in two flavours, I found the flavour Fresh to be the nicest and leave the nicest taste in your mouth after brushing. This is the toothpaste I would recommend to anyone who wants to brighten their smile as it is gentle enough to use everyday whilst still removing any staining! This will not whiten your teeth as such but it removes staining to get your teeth to their natural colour.

OPI Nail Lacquer In 'Are We There Yet?' - I am a big fan of OPI, I love the formula of all their polishes and the colour range is spectacular. This is my favourite polish this week. I love the colour on both my fingers and toes and the staying power is amazing! With a top coat, this can last well over a week! Check out my full review here.

So there we go guys, 10 weekly favourites of mine! Let me know if you would like to see any of these products reviewed in depth!

I have linked all of the products to sites where I feel the best deal is but this isn't to say there aren't other offers and other places where you can get them all from! (Just click on the name of the product)

Barry M Gelly Hi- Shine Nail Polishes

I have wanted to try these polishes for ages and I just never got round to buying them!! Anyway, I finally purchased 3 and I am in love!!

The three shades I purchased were - Pomegranate, Greenberry & Guava. (From L to R)

I have only tried Pomegranate and Guava but I can already tell by looking at the bottle that I am going to adore Greenberry!

At the moment I have Pomegranate on my finger nails which is a bright red shade - I don't normally wear bright colours on my finger nails but there is just something different about this colour! I used one coat and no top coat, however I did use a base coat as advised on the back of the bottle. Due to it being bright red, I can imagine there would be a lot of staining if no base was used. The polish glided on, although a little thicker than normal polish. There were no brush strokes or dragging and I found it very easy to apply. The finished result is just spectacular! The colour is highly pigmented and the shine is unbelievable, it's better than what you can achieve with a top coat sometimes! I have had it on for a week now and have had no chips! I am highly impressed. The photo below does not do this colour justice!

I have Guava on my toes at the moment which is a beautiful teal colour. The application and finish was just the same as Pomegranate. I really can't get over how super pigmented these colours are after just one coat! Once again, the shine is incredible. This colour is a classic toe colour and perfect for summer!

As mentioned above, I haven't actually tried Greenberry yet. But.. I am sure I will love it as much as the other two colours. Greenberry is a bright green/turquoise and again I think it is a perfect summer toe colour! I can't wait to try it out!

Overall, these polishes are a must have for any nail polish fanatic. They are super easy to use and come in a fantastic range of colours! All of the colours are super pigmented so you only require one coat and because they are Gelly they don't require a top coat! Perfect for a quick manicure! I will definitely be buying more colours from this range!!

A little treat for myself..

Since I've been poorly I have found new obsessions in skin care and nail polish.

In this post I am going to talk about my new OPI nail polishes :-)

I bought 3 colours - Tickle My France-y, Gouda Gouda Two Shoes & Are We There Yet? - I love them all but my favourite out of the 3 has to be Gouda Gouda Two Shoes from the Holland collection, it's a dark rosy kind of pink/mauve colour that's slightly muted, it has a gorgeous copper shimmer effect which really makes the colour very pretty! I needed two coats of this and a top coat and I found that it lasted over a week without chipping, which for me is excellent!

Gouda Gouda Two Shoes

I am yet to wear Tickle My France-y - but from looking at the colour in the bottle I think I will really like it. It's what I would call an everyday colour. Very nude but more than enough colour to brighten up your nails!! (this picture is from google images just so you can see the colour)

Tickle My France-y (google images pic)

I wore Are We There Yet on my toes and what a wonderful toe colour it is!! This colour is from the Touring America collection. It's a very bright, summery colour that is orangey/peachy with a hint of shimmer. I absolutely love it as a toe colour and can see it becoming my go to this summer :-) Like the other polish it lasted over a week without any chips using two coats and a top coat. This would have lasted longer but I fancied a change of colour :-) I must comment that the consistency and the applicator brush of both the polishes I have tried are brilliant - the polishes go on lovely without streaking/leaving brush strokes and are so easy to apply.

Make-up Reviews

So, I've recently decided that I'm going to start blogging my thoughts on beauty products, including, nail polish, makeup, skincare, hair care and body products.

I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to beauty products and I cannot go a week without purchasing something new for my ever growing collection! I therefore thought it would be a perfect opportunity to share my thoughts on all the new products I buy! Obviously, I am not a professional when it comes to reviewing products but I do know a thing or two about beauty products and I know what I like in a product.

I welcome all of your comments and views and would love you to share any product recommendations that you have!
