Top 5 Drugstore Lipsticks Under £5

I love trying out new lipsticks but unless it claims to do something amazing or is a high end brand I don't really want to pay a lot. I buy new lipsticks all the time and I never stick to the same one so imagine if I was to pay more than £5 each time! It would cost me a fortune! Obviously, if I always used the same lipstick then I would pay more. I don't think I have ever used up a full lipstick. As with everything, I like to change all the time! I have picked 5 lipsticks that I think are great value but the price tag is kind to your purse!

1) MUA Lipstick In Shade 5 - This lipstick is from the MUA £1 range and is absolutely brilliant! This is my favourite shade from the range but I do have others that I love! In total, there are 16 shades to choose from. This shade is a shimmery pink that really suits my fair skin. It applies easily and feels great to apply.. is moisturising and hydrating to the lips. It doesn't last all day and you do have to reapply it a couple of times but the wear time is longer than I expected for a £1 lipstick! You can't really grumble when it is only costing £1! It doesn't dry your lips out which is a big bonus for me! I hate having dry lips. The finish with this shade is quite sheer but I like that, it also has a slight shimmer which is nice! You can pick this lipstick up at most Superdrug stores or on the MUA website.

2) No 7 Vital Brights Lipstick In Shade Blossoming Pink - Blossoming pink is a very sheer light pink colour which achieves a barely there look, I absolutely love the shade! It is perfect for pairing with a more dramatic eye look and it would suit most skin tones. Application is easy and applies smoothly and evenly leaving your lips to feel very hydrated. It is a creamy formula and almost feels as though you are applying a balm rather than a lipstick. The wearing time is good but you do have to reapply throughout the day, this doesn't bother me though as I love touching up! My only issue is the packaging, it is very flimsy and cheap looking which is unusual for a No7 product! This isn't a problem to me as the lipstick itself is great quality! It is currently for sale in Boots for £5.

3)Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick In Shade Heather Shimmer -  This shade is absolutely beautiful. It is a pinky/plum colour with a hint of brown and is great to add a pop of colour to the face. It isn't really dark but it is dark enough to brighten the face. The formula is very creamy and feels lovely to apply to the lips. It is moisturising and hydrating to the lips. It claims to last up to 8 hours and I do agree with this claim. If you are looking for a lipstick that doesn't need reapplying that often then this range is perfect for you. It also doesn't dry out throughout the day and feels hydrating all day long which is brilliant! It also holds the colour well! When it does fade, it fades evenly so isn't noticeable. There are other shades available in this range. This is currently for sale at Superdrug for £4.99.

4) Barry M Lipstick In Shade Coral - This shade is just as described and is a beautiful coral colour. This is perfect for daytime or night time wear. It applies smoothly almost gliding on with no effort and feels very soft! It only takes one swipe to get an opaque colour. It contains natural moisturisers which keep your lips hydrated for hours! The wear time on this is quite long and I find I only have to reapply once or twice in the day. The finish is beautiful and very high shine! There are also other colours in this range which I have a couple of and they are consistent with the formula. This is for sale for £4.49 at Superdrug.

5) NYC Expert Last Lipstick In Shade Red Flame - I thought I best include a red lipstick in my 'Top 5', this is my favourite one that I have under £5 and I absolutely love it! It isn't the brightest red that I have in my collection as it applies quite sheer and has a slight pink tone to it. However, it is different to other reds I have due to the fact that it has a shimmery, metallic finish. I love how moisturising this is to the lips and how long it lasts. It currently retails in Superdrug for £1.99 which is an absolute steal for a product that is as good as this!

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? What is your favourite drugstore lipstick?

My 10 Favourites Of The Week.

Hi Guys,

As promised, here are my favourites of the week! I like to change the products that I use quite often as I like to try new things all the time. But these products are products that I will definitely be using again in the future and I will be using them until they run out :-)

Body Shop Moringa Body Butter - I absolutely adore this product! It smells wonderful and leaves my skin feeling so smooth for the whole day! The smell lingers for the day too which is brilliant as it is such a nice scent! I love all of the Body Shop butters but this is my all time favourite and the one that I keep buying & buying! At the moment, The Body Shop have all of their body butters at half price! So what a perfect reason to treat yourself :-)

Body Shop Moringa Shower Gel - Onve again, I buy this product purely for the scent! There is something about the Moringa scent that has me hooked!! And as with the body butter, the smell lingers! They do a smaller size of this too for £2 which is great if you want to try before buying the larger size!

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara - This has been my daily mascara for as long as I care to remember! It is brilliant and makes my lashes thicker, longer & more visible with no clumping or gaps. I love the brush that comes with this too, it is a spoon brush and makes applying so much easier by applying the correct amount of product and not getting it all over your face!

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Polish - I love love love this colour! It is such a summery colour and one that will be on my toes for most of the summer! And the ultra glossy finish is AMAZING! These polishes are brilliant and for only £3.99 it's an absolute steal! Check out my full review here.

Superdrug Fruit Source Shea Butter & Bamboo Shower Cream - The smell of this makes me want to eat this product instead of apply it to my body! Smell is one of the most important factors when I am choosing beauty products and this definitely passes the smell test! It has a lovely lather and leaves your skin feeling really soft! At the moment this is on offer for 89p at Superdrug!

MUA Eyeshadow Pearl In Shade 24 - This has to be one of my favourite eyeshadows. It is super pigmented, doesn't crease, is easy to blend and work with and lasts all day without a primer! And it only costs £1! This is amazing value for a product of such high standard! I love the colour of this single, its a deep plummy, purple shade and looks beautiful on the eye. I like to wear this blended in to a light cream shade, forming a slight smokey eye. The MUA single eyeshadows come in 34 different shades so there are plenty to choose from!

Organic Surge Blissful Daily Moisturiser - This is a brilliant moisturiser that I use on a daily basis! I mainly use this product under my makeup or before bed. The scent took me a while to get use to as it is quite citrusy but the product leaves your skin feeling super soft & hydrated for hours!!! You can tell a difference in your skin almost instantly. It doesn't make you look really shiny either, so for those days with no makeup this can just be worn alone. I have been using the same pot of this for over 3 months now and I use it everyday, this just shows how little product you need! And don't forget, all the ingredients are organic! Check out my full review here.

Bed Head By Tigi After Party - I have been using this for over 2 years now. It is great for when I straighten my hair as it smooths down all the little fly away hairs without making your hair greasy! It smells lovely too which is an added bonus!

Colgate Max White One In Fresh - I don't know if I have told you all before but my day job is as a Dental Nurse, so teeth are very important to me! This product gently whitens your teeth up to one shade whiter in one week whilst also having all the power and effects of a great toothpaste! It comes in two flavours, I found the flavour Fresh to be the nicest and leave the nicest taste in your mouth after brushing. This is the toothpaste I would recommend to anyone who wants to brighten their smile as it is gentle enough to use everyday whilst still removing any staining! This will not whiten your teeth as such but it removes staining to get your teeth to their natural colour.

OPI Nail Lacquer In 'Are We There Yet?' - I am a big fan of OPI, I love the formula of all their polishes and the colour range is spectacular. This is my favourite polish this week. I love the colour on both my fingers and toes and the staying power is amazing! With a top coat, this can last well over a week! Check out my full review here.

So there we go guys, 10 weekly favourites of mine! Let me know if you would like to see any of these products reviewed in depth!

I have linked all of the products to sites where I feel the best deal is but this isn't to say there aren't other offers and other places where you can get them all from! (Just click on the name of the product)

Barry M Gelly Hi- Shine Nail Polishes

I have wanted to try these polishes for ages and I just never got round to buying them!! Anyway, I finally purchased 3 and I am in love!!

The three shades I purchased were - Pomegranate, Greenberry & Guava. (From L to R)

I have only tried Pomegranate and Guava but I can already tell by looking at the bottle that I am going to adore Greenberry!

At the moment I have Pomegranate on my finger nails which is a bright red shade - I don't normally wear bright colours on my finger nails but there is just something different about this colour! I used one coat and no top coat, however I did use a base coat as advised on the back of the bottle. Due to it being bright red, I can imagine there would be a lot of staining if no base was used. The polish glided on, although a little thicker than normal polish. There were no brush strokes or dragging and I found it very easy to apply. The finished result is just spectacular! The colour is highly pigmented and the shine is unbelievable, it's better than what you can achieve with a top coat sometimes! I have had it on for a week now and have had no chips! I am highly impressed. The photo below does not do this colour justice!

I have Guava on my toes at the moment which is a beautiful teal colour. The application and finish was just the same as Pomegranate. I really can't get over how super pigmented these colours are after just one coat! Once again, the shine is incredible. This colour is a classic toe colour and perfect for summer!

As mentioned above, I haven't actually tried Greenberry yet. But.. I am sure I will love it as much as the other two colours. Greenberry is a bright green/turquoise and again I think it is a perfect summer toe colour! I can't wait to try it out!

Overall, these polishes are a must have for any nail polish fanatic. They are super easy to use and come in a fantastic range of colours! All of the colours are super pigmented so you only require one coat and because they are Gelly they don't require a top coat! Perfect for a quick manicure! I will definitely be buying more colours from this range!!
